Meet new friends at this collage workshop and book club social

Making friends as an adult isn’t exactly easy.
Happily, one Cork social club is making it a whole lot less awkward.
The Chit Chat Collective, founded by friends Megan and Clare, has been quietly building a community through monthly book clubs and social events, creating relaxed spaces where people can meet, chat and connect over a shared love of books (and good coffee).
Now, the pair are hosting what might just be their cosiest event yet.
On Sunday, July 26th, they’re teaming up with local artist Isa for an afternoon of crafting, coffee and bookish conversation at Urban Pantry in Cork.

During the workshop, guests will create their own unique collage artwork under the guidance of Isa Creative before taking it home in a frame ready to display. Once the scissors and glue sticks are put away, the group will settle in for a chat about this month’s read, Said the Dead by Doireann Ní Ghríofa. And if you haven’t read it? No stress.
The discussion is just as much about sharing favourite books, podcasts, TV shows and recent obsessions as it is about the book itself, so newcomers are more than welcome.
As if that wasn’t wholesome enough, every ticket also includes a speciality coffee or tea (hot or iced) and one of Urban Pantry’s signature sweet treats. The only thing attendees need to bring is a favourite photograph or meaningful quote they’d like to include in their collage, with all other materials provided.
With so many people looking to meet new friends and spend a little less time scrolling, this feels like the kind of Sunday afternoon that ticks all the boxes.
The event takes place on Sunday, July 26th, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm at Urban Pantry, with tickets priced at €35, including all craft materials, a frame, a drink and a sweet treat.
