A colourful new mural brings the Soul of Madrid to Cork’s Washington Street

By Yay Cork June 12, 2026

Brought to you by Madri Excepcional.

This is guaranteed to brighten up your walk to work.

There’s a fresh splash of colour in Cork City this week as Madrí Excepcional unveils a vibrant new mural at Kino on Washington Street, bringing a taste of Madrid’s energy, creativity and street culture right into the heart of town.

The striking artwork is part of Madrí Excepcional’s Soul of Madrid campaign, which is bringing bold street art, live experiences and a little slice of the Spanish capital to cities across Ireland this summer. Packed with colour and character, the mural is already turning heads and adding some serious warm-weather vibes to the neighbourhood.

To mark the unveiling of the mural, Madrí Excepcional is inviting Corkonians to get involved through a series of interactive events across the city.

On Friday, June 19th, An Bróg will host a special Soul of Madrid event on Oliver Plunkett Street from 8pm to 10pm, featuring great beer, Spanish-inspired beats and bites, and a lively Madrid-themed atmosphere.

Guests will be given free rein to play with an interactive Madrí Excepcional graffiti wall too, so you can try your hand at a tag or two and print your designs on the night.

No tickets or sign-up are required, with everyone welcome to drop in and experience the celebration.

Leave your mark with Madrí Excepcional

A modern European-style lager, brewed in collaboration with La Sagra, Madrí Excepcional is inspired by the energy and culture of Spain’s capital city.

Adding to the excitement here on Leeside, Madrí Excepcional’s interactive digital graffiti experience will continue popping up across Cork after its debut at An Bróg, giving beer fans the opportunity to create their own virtual street art and leave their creative mark at The Bodega on June 20th, Clancy’s on June 26th and JJ Walsh’s on June 27th.
