A brand new beach café opens on Owenahincha today

Beach walks and coffee are part of life in Cork these days.
Now there’s a new spot to hit for your salty air and sugary treat fix – and it couldn’t be better timing for summer.
Local baker Anna O’Leary has been absolutely crushing it with her “honesty box” bakeries, and now she’s taking things to the next level. Her brand-new, bricks-and-mortar spot—The Flour Patch Café—opens at Owenahincha Beach this morning, Saturday, at 9am.

If you love good coffee, homemade treats, and cosy, mismatched-mug vibes mixed with fresh sea air, this is about to be your new favourite summer hangout.
Don’t worry if you’re a regular at her honesty sheds, though. The popular self-service spots in Castlefreke and Kilmichael aren’t going anywhere. You can still swing by them for your usual fix of brownies, cookies, cookie bars, and classic comfort bakes like brown soda bread, scones, and crumbles.
For the new café, Anna is levelling up the menu using top-tier ingredients, including free-range eggs, local milk, and fresh produce straight from her family’s farm in Kilmichael.
“It’s always been my dream to have a cafe because I don’t get to meet a lot of my customers with the honesty box system,” Anna told Yay Cork.
“I didn’t think an opportunity would come my way this quickly with such a great location but when it did, I thought there was no moment like now. I will be serving Three Fools Coffee and plan on being a bit extra with the coffee menu with things like homemade syrups and specials with extras like cold foam.”
Beach days just got a whole lot tastier.
