Cork’s newest burger spot just treated us to a huge mural of a local legend

Fat Phill’s is coming to Cork.
But while the Dutch burger franchise ready their new premises on Cook Street for the smashburger-loving masses, they enlisted the help of a talented artist to transform the dull hoarding outside their new building into something locals would really appreciate.
Artist Karski Roy, who hails from the Netherlands, arrived on Leeside to create a huge portrait of sporting legend Roy Keane.

The piece captures that unmistakable Keane stare… adding the line: “Keane on a burger?”
While Karski was working, he was surprised to get a famous visitor:
“Good news travels fast.” explained the Fat Phill’s crew.

“Our boy @karskione was down at our new Cork location today, painting the latest mural in his Irish icon series. You can imagine the surprise he got when he was tapped on the shoulder by none other than Keano himself. We’re captioning this one ‘when Roy met Roy’.”
The Amsterdam- based restaurant chain, famous for its burgers and Philly Cheesesteaks, plans to roll out multiple locations across Ireland over the next five years, starting in Dublin and Cork.
