Everyone’s invited to a massive Céilí in Cork City Hall on Paddy’s Weekend

Visiting Cork for St Patrick’s weekend?
If you fancy doing something a little more memorable than queuing three deep at the bar, here’s your answer — and it involves actual human interaction, live music and the possibility of joyful chaos.
A massive Céilí is taking over Cork City Hall on Sunday, March 15th at 2pm as part of this year’s Cork St Patrick’s Festival — and everyone is invited.
Yes, everyone.
Organised by Cork City Council, An Céilí Mór promises a proper celebration of all things Irish. Think soaring fiddles, spinning bodies, and that rare St Patrick’s Day feeling where you’re participating in the culture rather than just observing it from a high stool.
Hit the dance floor
The event is being co-ordinated by dance teacher William (Hammy) Hammond, who will guide dancers through each routine step-by-step. No experience? Perfect. Two left feet? Even better. Experienced dancers will be on the floor to steer you gently in the right direction.

Music on the day comes from seasoned traditional players including Ger Murphy and Ken Cotter, so you can expect reels and jigs that will make it physically impossible to stand still.
So polish the dancing shoes (or at least wear something that won’t fly off mid-reel), head to Cork City Hall at 2pm on March 15th, and throw yourself into An Céilí Mór.
You can go for drinks after.
