Hamnet author Maggie O’Farrell will present her latest novel in Cork City this summer

The film has received no less than eight Oscar nominations.
But Hamnet author Maggie O’Farrell is already looking past the March Academy Awards and has her sights set on summer, when she’ll be celebrating the release of her new novel Land with fans here in Cork City.
The celebrated writer, who is originally from Coleraine in Northern Ireland, will join West Cork Literary Festival on June 18th for the festival’s first ever city evening event at Live At St Luke’s.
Inspired by the mapping of Ireland in the mid nineteenth century, the new novel is at once intimate and epic: a portrait of a family navigating a legacy of upheaval and survival with resilience and love. Land is a story of buried treasure, overlapping lives, ancient woodland, persistent ghosts and a particularly loyal dog. It’s also a story about place, and how layers of history change landscapes and the people who live in them.
