A beautiful new four-sided mural is now complete on the Marina Promenade

It’s perfect timing for a Christmas stroll.
A stunning new mural has now been completed on the Marina Promenade, with four images inspired by the surrounding wildlife, history and scenery.
The piece, entitled Marina Flow, was created by local artist Raffaele Muraca of @SillyMe_Arts and commissioned by Cork City Council.
“This work explores the area’s identity through a blend of illustration, graphic design, expressive sketches and soon it will be implemented with AR (Augmented Reality).” Muraca explains.

“The Four Sides: Flora & Fauna: Celebrating the biodiversity of the area. The River Lee: Honouring underwater life and the local rowing community. Heritage: A tribute to the area’s history as a commercial railway. Community: Dedicated to the walkers and cyclists of today, with a special thanks to Cork Cycling for All (if you don’t know them… look them up).”
There’s also an international connection in the ceramic red and yellow lemon leaves carried by the wind—a symbolic link to Palermo, the city that originally inspired the “Marina” name for the promenade.
