This famed city cocktail bar has invented the most ‘Cork’ Negroni ever

Leave it to Cask to make it their own.
The Negroni — normally the sort of thing you imagine being sipped on a Milan rooftop by someone in sunglasses and a linen shirt — has now been well and truly Leeside-ified.
One of the city’s famed cocktail bars has gone and improved the classic, taking Italy’s bitter-sweet aperitivo and give it a Rebel City twist.
To celebrate Negroni Week at Cask on MacCurtain Street, you can order a Beamish Boulevardier, a mighty blend of West Cork Bog Oak Whiskey, Beamish Stout, Campari and Hivemind Honey.

The Cask crew say it’s more than just gin, vermouth and Campari in perfect balance: “It’s about giving back and supporting the ethos of the Slow Food movement – care for ingredients, respect for the seasons and taking the time to create with purpose.” they told us.
“That’s a language we’ve always spoken at Cask. Our menus are rooted in Irish producers, seasonal turns and cocktails with intention. So while the global spotlight is on the Negroni this week, it feels like a natural continuation of what we do here in Cork every day.”
The team describe the deliciously herbaceous Beamish Boulevardier as “a distant second-cousin-once-removed” to the Negroni.
“But don’t worry, we’ll make you a Negroni no problem.” they added.
