‘Much cooler’ in Cork by Sunday as Met Éireann forecasts temperature drop

Cork is waking up to a damp and drizzly Friday.
Outbreaks of rain — heavy at times —are making for a soggy start. The good news? The rain should pull away to the east later today, giving us a brighter evening.
Temperatures will hover between 15 and 17 degrees, but that’s about as warm as it’s going to get for a while.
Tonight, things turn cooler again with lows of 7 to 11 degrees, plus some mist and hill fog in calm conditions — very autumn vibes if you’re out late.
Saturday starts off dry with some sunny breaks, but don’t get too comfortable. Showers — some heavy, even with a rumble of thunder — will push in from the northwest during the afternoon. Daytime highs will slip to between 13 and 16 degrees, with northerly winds picking up by evening.
Temp drop
From Sunday, the real autumn chill sets in. Expect highs of just 11 to 14 degrees, scattered showers, and maybe even a touch of frost overnight as temperatures dip as low as 2 degrees.
Monday and Tuesday will be brighter and largely dry, but cool — perfect weather for scarves, hot drinks, and brisk walks in the leaves.
The outlook? High pressure takes over, keeping things settled but on the cooler side. Summer is most definitely behind us now — time to dig out the cosy layers and embrace the autumn.
