Two Cork city streets are about to be transformed with stunning new murals

By Yay Cork September 11, 2025

The Ardú crew is back for 2025.

The much-loved street art project, which has been adding colour, interest and life to unloved spaces across the city since 2020, has just announced two new artists will be creating special pieces for the people of Cork to enjoy this month.

Ardú Street Art Project is the brainchild of visual artist and designer Shane O’Driscoll, muralist, stained-glass artist and secondary school teacher Peter Martin, and organiser of the annual Cork Graffiti Jam, Paul Gleeson.

“Thanks to the phenomenal support of the community, the project continues to evolve year after year – and we’re thrilled to reveal two new artists joining us for 2025: Kone and Hixxy.” said the organisers.

Here’s what to expect:

  • Kone at Water Street, Cork City

A Cork-born multidisciplinary artist with deep roots in graffiti culture, Kone blends graphic and illustrative elements with figurative realism to create bold, dynamic work. With over a decade of experience and inspiration gathered from around the world, Kone is proud to bring his vision back home to Cork for Ardú.

  • Hixxy at Liberty Street, Cork City

Originally from Nottinghamshire and now based in Dublin, Jo Hicks (aka Hixxy) is known for her vibrant murals grounded in collage and printmaking. Playful, surreal, and layered with meaning, her work explores themes of connection, balance and the invisible threads that tie us all together.

Keep your eyes on the walls of the city in the coming days.
