Composting curious? There’s a free talk happening at Cork City Library

Hate throwing all those food scraps away?
If you’re curious about composting and how you could create a compost heap in your garden or outside space, the Soil Savers project is here with the lowdown.
A fun and informative composting talk will take place at the City Library on Saturday, August 9th at 11am. The group, an urban composting project based on TEST SITE in Cork City, will also be launching its brand-new Seed Library, a gateway to growing and sharing seeds with the community.

Composting reduces carbon emissions, improves soil health, and diverts food scraps from the bin and landfill.Soil Savers is for those with a fondness for organic matter: a hands-on, mucky affair for the compost curious to meet and learn together.
“The Seed Library will live permanently in the music library, inviting the community to give and take seeds, and share their knowledge of same. We are so excited to see grow and develop.” said Aisling Kett of Soil Savers.
“This the first of a series of talks around the seed library – so more to come!”
All are welcome to attend and you can get a free ticket here.
