A very fancy new sauna and ice bath spot just opened in town
It’s a stunning escape in the middle of the city.
Hoco, Cork’s newest sauna and ice bath experience, is now open in The Black Market on Monahan Road in Ballintemple.
Decked out in rustic wood panelling with twinkly lights and industrial copper showers, this one will appeal to design fans as much as fitness fans, many of whom took the opportunity to use the muscle-soothing recovery facilities during the Cork’s Fittest competition on Sunday.
Hoco boasts a roomy sauna where you can relax as your body temperature rises before plunging yourself into a refreshing ice bath afterwards.

If you don’t feel like braving the ice, you can cool off in the outdoor showers, which are artfully built into the surrounding rock, or pull the rope on the sauna bucket shower.
“We’re excited to welcome you to our space to relax and disconnect together.” the owners announced on Instagram.
Hoco at The Black Market is open Thursday and Friday from 4pm to 8pm and Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 4.30pm. €20 gets you 45 minutes of relaxation and you can book in here.
