6 MARVELLOUS new things to eat and drink in Cork this week

By Katie Mythen-Lynch March 26, 2025March 28, 2025

Life’s too short for boring lunches and bland beverages.

Put down your sourdough and step away from the pizza shop, because we’ve got news: Cork City is alive with new menu additions waiting to be devoured.

Here are six new eats to try this week:

The Taco Pocket at My Goodness

Tex Mex at its best, you can get your hungry hands around a hand-pressed, deep fried Taco Pocket stuffed with all manner of vegan deliciousness (€10.50) at My Goodness every Thursday at the Mahon Point Farmer’s Market. Rock up from 10am-2pm.

The Botanist G&T at Market Lane

Over on Oliver Plunkett Street they’re celebrating the arrival of spring at Market Lane with a brand new cocktail – The Botanist G&T. A gin treat with spiced berry syrup and zingy lemon juice, topped with tonic, there’s one with your name on it waiting to kick off the weekend.

Spring plates at Paradiso

Got some time to sip and savour a memorable dinner? Take a table at Paradiso and order yourself a pretty plate of Gort na Nain asparagus, wild garlic velouté, smoked tomato puree, cured egg-yolk emulsion, bergamot gel, smoked tomato crumb, and baby wild garlic. Best enjoyed with a buttery Domaine Mosse Chenin Blanc.

Visit Paradiso on Lancaster Quay Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm for a six course seasonal tasting menu.

Grab a Brownie Slab at Lab 82

Nothing says ‘I love you’ like a big heap of sugar and chocolate. Over on the Lower Glanmire Road you can pick up Mother’s Day Personalised Brownie Slab to share with your Mam.

All the margaritas at NV

Just up the street, NV could be a tasty next stop. If you’re fond of a margarita, they do them all: choose from a variety of twists including the Spicy, the Mi Amor, the Hunny Bunny or The Mexican.

Green Curry Tacos at Old Town Taqueria

We can never get enough tacos and you might need some extra sustenance after all those cocktails, so head to Old Town Taqueria to try their special of the week: Thin Steak Green Curry Tacos. These babies involve marinated steak, courgette green curry, grilled eggplant, and rice on a crispy corn tortilla.
