Met Éireann says we can expect ‘plenty of bright weather’ for the rest of the week

This is the weather news we’ve been waiting for.
After a wet weekend with flooding in many parts of Cork (and even a landslide in Inishannon) on Sunday, Met Éireann says we can look forward to brighter days ahead.

Today, Monday, will be blustery with good spells of sunshine and scattered showers, although more widespread heavy showers will spread from the Atlantic this afternoon, some of hail with scattered thunderstorms.
Showers will ease again this evening with highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees throughout the day.
Tuesday will be bright with sunny spells and scattered showers and highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees and the outlook is for “plenty of bright weather for the rest of the working week, though with showers at times also.”
Wednesday is looking a little breezy but Thursday will be mainly dry.
“Friday will start off generally dry with spells of sunshine and just isolated showers.” said a forecaster.
“However, cloud will increase through the afternoon with rain possible near western coasts by evening. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees with moderate southerly winds freshening through the day.
“Current indications suggest that there will be further spells of rain over the weekend, though with the chance of some drier intervals on Sunday.”
