It’s never too late to try something new.

And if you’ve always yearned for a go on the decks, you can make your DJ-ing dreams come true for free later this month.

Big Up the Beours is a supportive and empowering DJ workshop designed for women, non-binary folks, and friends to come together, share skills, and lift each other up.

Hosted by Underground Ovation, this two-hour session on Wednesday, February 26th (6.30pm) offers a safe and fun space to learn the basics of DJing or refine your skills on club-standard decks in a hidden studio in Cork.

“No experience? No problem!” they told us.

“The session is open to absolute beginners, with hands-on guidance and a welcoming atmosphere. If you already have some experience, you’ll have the chance to jump on the decks and experiment. Beyond learning technical skills, it’s a great way to connect with like-minded people and inspire confidence to step into the DJ scene.”

Big Up the Beours supports the broader mission of increasing representation of women and underrepresented groups on line-ups and within the electronic music scene. Taking place in the lead-up to International Women’s Day, this workshop is all about breaking barriers, building community, and having fun while doing it.

“Join us and take the first step into the world of DJing—because the future of electronic music is inclusive, diverse, and full of possibility!”

It’s open to anyone over 16. Reserve your spot for free over here.
