Take a beginner’s workshop and build a stylish Adirondack chair for the garden or patio

Brought to you by Curraghbeg Plant Nursery.
It’s the perfect time of year for a new hobby.
And if you’re a beginner who has always wanted to create something beautiful with your own two hands, a new Furniture Making Class is the perfect spot to start.
If you’ve ever dreamed of crafting your very own furniture for the garden, or just love the idea of learning something new, then you need to sign up for the Furniture Making Classes with Brendan O’Halloran at Curraghbeg Nursery in Ovens.
The first class kicks off on Saturday, January 18th, from 10am to 12:30pm—and trust us, you won’t want to miss it.
Brendan will guide you through all the basics of making stunning pieces like an Adirondack chair, a picnic table, and some planter boxes—perfect for adding a personal touch to your outdoor space. Not only will you leave with the knowledge to build beautiful furniture, but you’ll also walk away feeling proud of what you’ve created.

The Adirondack chair is a classic outdoor chair known for its wide armrests, high back, and slanted seat. It was originally designed in the early 20th century in the Adirondack Mountains of New York, and its rustic, laid-back style has made it a popular choice for gardens, patios, and porches.
Because they last for generations, they tend to be pricey to buy so learning how to make one could save you a lot of cash if you’re keen to make enough for all your summer guests to kick back on.
The class is also an excellent primer for building raised planters for spring vegetable gardens – especially handy if you’re looking for a way to while away the colder months before gardening season begins.
