This Cork hotel’s gala dinner raised a whopping €40,000 for Cork Penny Dinners

This will go a long way for the people who need it.
Castlemartyr Resort hosted its first-ever fundraising gala dinner in aid of Cork Penny Dinners earlier this month, raising €40,000 for the charity.
Over 200 guests, all dressed to impress, arrived at the festively bedecked Resort, where they were greeted with Champagne before relaxing in the Capel Suite for a fun evening with compère, TV host Killian O’Sullivan.
Guests enjoyed an exclusive performance by Kelli-Ann Masterson, Susie Gibbons and Rachel Croash accompanied by Gary Beecher on the piano from the acclaimed Blackwater Valley Opera before ‘Reggie on the Blackrock Road’ had everyone in stitches with his set.

A lavish five-course banquet was served, created by Executive Head Chef Kevin Burke and his talented team, before the fund-raising auction and raffle saw guests try to out-bid each other all in the name of a good cause.
“We are delighted with the success of our first Charity Gala Dinner, and we are blown away by the kindness shown by the guests and our business supporters.” said Brendan Comerford, General Manager of Castlemartyr Resort.
Caitríona Twomey from Cork Penny Dinners said her organisation is grateful to everyone who kindly supported the event: “It is important for all our volunteers and the people who use our services to see the strength of support out there for Cork Penny Dinners.” she added.
