A cosy new pet-friendly café and gastropub just opened in East Cork

They’ve been hard at work on renovations.
Now a brand new café, bar and restaurant is open in a beloved Midleton landmark.
The Fork & Wheel is set to breathe new life into what was once Two Mile Inn, a destination for locals of Midleton and people passing through to East Cork.

Throughout the renovating process, efforts were made to ensure the history of the restaurant was preserved. The distinctive chestnut tree was protected during restoration, while the original wheels from Two Mile Inn were given a new lease of life.
“Seeing The Fork & Wheel come to life has been an incredible journey, and the warm welcome we’ve received from the Midleton community has been truly fantastic.” said owner David Jordan.

“From the café to the restaurant and the pub, we’ve worked hard to create a place that has something for everyone—a space where locals and visitors alike can gather, celebrate, and make new memories.”
The Fork & Wheel Café is now open seven days a week and customers can enjoy a cup of 5 Mile Coffee while waiting for their own freshly roasted bag of coffee beans to take home, light lunch options and freshly baked pastries in the pet-friendly café.
Head Chef Vasil Baci, who has over 17 years of experience at The Imperial Hotel and The Metropole Hotel, is leading the charge in the kitchen.

“As a chef, there’s nothing more inspiring than working with incredible local produce.” he said.
“At The Fork & Wheel, I’m thrilled to be part of a team that shares my passion for showcasing the best of what’s in season. Our menus are crafted to highlight the freshest ingredients, evolving regularly to reflect the changing seasons and keep our offerings exciting for returning guests.
Customers are advised to book their table at the restaurant by contacting bookings@forkandwheel.ie or calling 021 206 6989. Walk-ins are available at the pub and café .
