This is where you can donate new toys and pyjamas for kids in need at Edel House

By Yay Cork November 27, 2024November 27, 2024

It’s a little gift that will mean a lot to a small child.

A Christmas collection of new toys and new pyjamas for children and women staying at Edel House will see two collection points operating in the coming week.

More than 190 children will be waking up in emergency accommodation supported by Edel House this Christmas morning. Your gift will make a dark time a little brighter for little ones on what is supposed to be the most magical time of the year.

Items can be dropped off at the Parish Centre in Ovens before or after 6pm mass on November 30th, 2024 and 11.30am mass on Sunday, December 1st. There will also be a collection on Monday morning, December 2nd from 8am to 9.30am.

In Farran, items can be left in the church before and after 9.30am mass on Sunday, December 1st.

“With your generous support, we can be confident of continuing to provide essential services which assist women, children and families in Cork to move on well from homelessness and reduce the risk of a return to homeless services.” say the organisers.

Edel House recently organised a special evening for families and kids  living in B&B accommodation ahead of the festive season.

“The kids wrote their letters to Santa and posted them in our magic postbox. They had great fun singing, watching a movie and having fun. They also brought home special reindeer food so Santa knows exactly where to land.” they added.
