This new porridge menu on Washington St. will make you want to wake up early

Let’s talk about porridge for a sec’.
It’s the breakfast equivalent of beige. But don’t let its unassuming appearance fool you. Porridge is actually a nutritional powerhouse that’s been unfairly maligned for far too long.
Now a Cork City café has given it the glow-up it needs and TBH, you might even start craving a bowl every morning.
Over at Bright Side’s sunny café on Washington Street, the new porridge menu is probably the most delicious and wholesome way to start your day. At €7 a bowl, their three new flavour combos will keep you going past lunch:
- Nutty Apple Crumble: Creamy oats topped with stewed apples, house nut butter, oat crumble and a drizzle of honey.
- Raspberry and Lemon Crumble: A warm bowl of porridge topped with raspberry compote and zingy lemon curd, sprinkled with oat crumble.
- Banana Biscoff: The star of the show, for sure, this one involves creamy oats topped with banana, a dollop of Biscoff, nutty granola and honey drizzle.

With gluten-free and vegan options available, it’s dessert for breakfast, but make it healthy. Worth setting your alarm early for, that is.
