Oooh – Met Éireann says summer’s back this Friday with 24C sunshine

Don’t light the fire just yet.
Met Éireann says we could be in for a final blast of summery weather this weekend, with temperatures of between 21C and 24C forecast in Cork and across the country.
According to forecasters, it will be “warm and humid on Friday with spells of sunshine in many areas.”
Despite some clouds and the chance of a little drizzle, maximum temperatures will be balmy, with a close and humid night in store too.
“Mist and fog lifting from most areas on Saturday morning to leave a mix of cloud and warm sunshine,” they added.
“It looks set to be mostly dry, but there is the chance of a few heavy showers, especially across the southern half of the country. Highest temperatures of 21 to 24 degrees but a little cooler at the coast.”
Saturday night will bring more humid conditions with areas of mist and fog and the chance of a few heavy showers.
In the meantime, it will be mostly cloudy today, Tuesday, with scattered showers of light rain or drizzle and occasional sunny intervals.
“More in the way of sunshine is expected towards evening,” say the forecasters, predicting highest temperatures of 16 to 18 degrees.
