Cork Weather: Weekend looking better but situation ‘a little messy’ for next week

It’s probably a good time to invest in a new raincoat.
The Summer of Drizzle 2024 continues in Cork this week, but forecasters do at least have some positive news for the weekend.
“Weekend still looking better but situation a little messy for next week now.” said Carlow Weather forecaster Alan O’Reilly on X.
“Uncertainty continues on the models but rainfall amounts do look lower next week. The warmer air doesn’t manage to get make it up to us though.”
Met Éireann is predicting a mostly cloudy day tomorrow, Thursday, with scattered outbreaks of rain. During the afternoon and evening, rain will clear to sunny spells and just isolated showers with maximum temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees.
Happily, it will be sunny to begin on Friday, with a mix of sunny spells and passing showers:
“Turning cloudier through the afternoon, before becoming sunnier in the evening as showers gradually die out. Highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees in moderate to fresh southwest winds.”
The weekend
In comparison to the rest of the week, Saturday is looking like a peach, with long dry and 21C sunny spells likely, with a band of showers passing through also.
Sunday is also likely to be a dry day with some sunny spells and maximum temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees.
If you can bear the outlook for next week, read on: “Current indications suggest that the early days of next week will return to a more Atlantic regime with rain at times.”
Delightful.
