Oh hello – a gloriously old-timey new Fancy Goods & Grocers to visit ASAP

It’s time for a spin to Macroom.
Pop Crowley’s Fancy Goods & Grocers just opened on the town’s Back Square, right next door to the wonderful Pickled Deli.
A new venture by Ballymaloe grad Jack Buckley and his wife Carmel Buckley, Pop Crowley’s is stocked to the hilt with fresh bread and tasty bakes, organic and local fruit and veggies, cheese and meats, excellent coffee and various other fancy goods and provisions.
The interior is designed with custom wood shelving and counters and a cosy vibe, with a smart blue paint job on the outside.

It’s the perfect spot to stock up your fridge and pantry with goodies for the weekend or to find the makings of a deliciously lazy picky dinner to take on a staycation or a hike.
Right now you can fill your bag with first-of-the-season Bushby’s Raspberries, East Cork new potatoes, and organic stone fruit.
They’re also using the 2GoCup system of deposit/return cups to reduce the scourge of single-use coffee cups in the community – bring your own cup or pay €2 deposit for your reusable cup, then drop it back to any coffee shop that’s part of the scheme to get your money back.
With a soft launch underway, Pop Crowley’s is open now from Tuesday to Saturday.
