Spice Bag Ketchup is a thing and TBH we’re not one bit mad at it

We love an interesting condiment ’round here.
But even we’ll admit that Spice Bag Ketchup is not the most appealing name for a food item.
However, Chef has unveiled a new Spice Bag Ketchup celebrating the most iconic dish ever to come out of a Chinese takeaway in Ireland and it’s very tasty indeed.
For the uninitiated, a spice bag is Ireland’s answer to the late-night munchies, a chaotic symphony of deep-fried goodness piled into a paper bag. The ingredients? Golden chips nestled alongside succulent chicken. Then comes the magic – a fiery sprinkle of red and green peppers, a smattering of onions and the secret weapon – a mystery spice.
“The Chef Spice Bag Ketchup consists of hand-selected spices mixed with tangy Chef ketchup to give the delicious flavour of a Spice Bag to any meal!” they say in the blurb.
Contrary to Chef’s ‘Break out the Fancyyy’ tagline, this is absolutely not something we’d describe as fancy and the dish it’s based on has questionable culinary origins.
It is, however, oddly delicious and you can try it for yourself for €3.29 in most supermarkets.
