A new vintage shop opens this weekend (and it’s stuffed with quirky finds)

Love all things retro and thrifty?
A new vintage and curios shop opens this Friday in Skibbereen, offering another reason to take a spin west this summer.
Run by Steffie and Robert Jagers Op Akkerhuis, Hunters Gatherers Vintage is setting up shop on Bridge Street (number 45, to be precise – right next to Antiquity Bookshop and Bridge House B&B) from May 3rd.
Regular stallholders at Skibbereen Farmers Market, where you will still find them weekly, the couple have a whole treasure trove of vintage goodies waiting to be unearthed in their brand-new shop.

Expect groovy ceramics from the 50s, 60s, and 70s from Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands, and glassware in all the colours of the rainbow.
They also have a whole range of adorable Kokeshi dolls, all hand-carved from Japanese woods such as dogwood, maple and zelkova.

You can also check out kantha throws, perfect for adding a splash of vintage warmth to your home, vintage fabric, flip clocks and Maxi Swatches.
You never know what hidden gems you might unearth.
