As Big Beer bumps prices, this sound Cork brewery won’t be following suit

Pub-goers face another price hike in April.
But while the big companies like Diageo are increasing prices by 10 cents, one local brewery has assured customers they won’t be adding anything onto their bar bill.
In light of the latest increase from the large breweries, Original 7 Beverage Co has contacted all of their customers to reassure them that their prices will remain unchanged – good news for fans of Original 7 beers such as Revolution IPA, Hazy Pale, Wonderland Red or one of their many specials.

Founder, Shane Long, contacted all Original 7 customers today to give assurances that, despite the high cost of brewing, costs have stabilised to the point of maintaining the current pricing and rebate structure.
Shane, as a publican himself, has first-hand knowledge of the strain on finances in the hospitality sector.
“I am a punter, a publican and a brewer, costs have risen for all of us but the latest increases from the big breweries are a step too far for the publicans,” Shane told us, speaking at The Franciscan Well Brewpub as they geared up for their Easter Beer Festival this weekend.
“Original 7 beers will not see a similar increase, you can be assured of that!”
Might be time to switch to a local brand.
