A stunning Cork home will feature on The Great House Revival this Sunday

We can’t wait for this episode.
Architect and fan of all things old and decrepit made new and homely Hugh Wallace is visiting a unique Cork home on this weekend’s episode of The Great House Revival on RTÉ One.
We’ve been following progress at The Parsons House Revival on Instagram for at least a year now and the transformation of the 188-year-old Georgian house in Churchtown, Mallow has been nothing short of magical.
Mental health Nurse Mary-Claire and carpenter Sully fell in love with The Parson’s House, a four-bedroom Georgian cut-stone building, the second they saw it.
Originally part of the Egmont Estate, the pair were under no illusions that it needed some serious refurbishment to bring many of its original features back to life.

With a budget of €130,000, the couple launched into a laundry list of DIY building projects, bravely taking on everything from knocking walls to slabbing, electrics, plumbing, landscaping, insulating, painting and sanding.
The back-breaking work was worth it and over the past few months, the hard-working homeowners have been revealing all the beautiful features that are now waiting behind a bold new purple front door.

In this new series, Hugh meets homeowners who are transforming old cowsheds, tumbling townhouses and an abandoned former school, across the country from Cork to Wexford.
With budgets ranging from €100,000 to €350,000, Hugh will find out just what is possible when people set their hearts on their new dream home.
Season Four of the Great House Revival begins at 9.30pm on Sunday on RTÉ One.
