An ‘enchanting interactive dreamscape’ is set to wow Cork kids with special needs

This will be magical.
An exciting event has been announced for families in Cork and neighbouring counties with young children who have lifelong health conditions and additional needs.
Bedtime Adventures, an enchanting interactive dreamscape, featuring fluffy clouds, soft play areas and musical elements, will transform the Mayfield Arts Centre for kids aged under six in Cork on Friday, March 29th.

The event is a collaboration between the national arts and health charity Helium Arts and That’s Life, an arts and personal development programme of the Brothers of Charity Services Ireland.
The ambitious, once-off project is supported by the Arts Council.
‘A magical world for young children’
Carefully tailored for its young audience, many of whom will have lifelong health conditions such as cystic fibrosis, diabetes, autism, and physical and intellectual disabilities, and their siblings and parents, the once-off performance led by artistic director Joanna Williams, aims to “create a magical world for young children, providing an immersive experience that sparks creativity and exploration”.
“On arriving guests are invited to take off their shoes and prepare for bed, what awaits are four beds which transform into imaginative play centres, each inviting guests into the sensory play spaces beyond,” they told us.
“Experienced facilitators will support parents, siblings and children to explore, investigate and play in their own time led by their children’s curiosity.”
Bedtime Adventures is open to the public at Mayfield Arts Centre in Cork for one day on Friday, March 29th, with two time slots at 11am and 1pm.
The venue and the performance are wheelchair friendly and free ticketscan be pre-booked on helium.ie.
