There’s a free Tree Giveaway happening at a Cork park this week
Got a spot in the garden that needs some attention?
You can pick up some beautiful native trees for free this Tuesday, March 5th at Tramore Valley Park.
A Free Tree Giveaway will run from 10am to 1pm at the main entrance to the park as part of National Tree Week. Cork City Council will be handing out free oak, rowan, holly, hawthorn, hazel, birch, and alder trees in conjunction with Coillte and The Tree Council of Ireland on the day.
Members of the public can swing by and collect bare root whips ranging in height from 60cm to 150cm.
“It’s first-come, first-served, so don’t miss out on the opportunity,” they told us.

And don’t worry if you’re clueless about how and where to plant your new trees, help is at hand at the event: “The Cork City Council Tree Officer will be on-site to answer all your tree-related questions.” they added.
