If you want to know the best hiking spots near you, influencer and RTÉ radio host, Roz Purcell has shared the ultimate hiking and dining experience near Cork City.

Here’s her curated list of top 10 beginner-friendly hikes and delectable eats (because no walk is complete without a slice of cake and a cuppa afterwards).

1. Marlogue Woods Loop, Cobh (4km): Immerse in the old-world charm with mature trees and scenic tracks then fuel up at The Arch – Cafe & Wine Bar for barista-made coffee, pastries, and divine wine, or savour treats at Wholey Ground in Cobh. Here is the recent article we did on this little gem.
2. Garryduff Woods Loop, Rochestown (5km): Discover a hidden gem and recharge at Napoli Coffee bar in Monkstown, Three Fools in Carrigaline, or 2 Point Road in Crosshaven.
3. Corrin Trail, Fermoy (4.8km): Enjoy a 360° view of the hill and find serenity in the woodland. Roz recommends Route 57 for coffee and Priory Coffee Co. for food in Fermoy.
4. Killavullen Wood Loop, Mallow (6km): After the hike, indulge at Thatch and Thyme, a charming café in Kildorrery.
5. Farran Forest Park Loop (3.5km): Admire the beauty along the shoreline of Inniscarra Lake then relish delights at Wunderkaffee or Bean & Back drive-thru in Farnanes.
6. Rostellan Loop, Whitewell Cross (3.3km): Explore the scenic trail and unwind at the uber-pretty Corkbeg Café in Whitegate. Check out a recent article we did on this picturesque cafe.
7. Curragh Wood, Midleton (5.2km): After the walk, head to Monty’s in Midleton for fresh salads or Roastie Restaurant for gourmet burgers and rotisserie treats.
8. Ballyannan Loop, Midleton (3km): Visit Elle’s Coffee Dock for a delightful post-hike treat.
9. Tracton Woods, Minane Bridge (5km): Wrap up your hike with a visit to Three Fools in Carrigaline or 2 Point Road in Crosshaven.
10. Scilly Walk, Kinsale (3.5km): Experience breathtaking scenes on the edge of Kinsale’s picturesque harbour, then treat yourself at O’Herlihys Kinsale (OHK Cafe) or Wild + Tame for coffee and indulgent treats.
