There’s another icy night in store in Cork with temperatures set to plummet to -6

‘Tis absolutely bitter.
A Low temperature/ice warning for Ireland remains active and has been extended until noon today, as forecasters warn that freezing conditions could lead to travel and animal welfare issues.
According to the forecasters, it will be “very cold today with frost, ice, and fog slow to clear, lingering in some spots through the day.”
It will be largely dry and sunny for most, but highest temperatures will linger at just one to five degrees.

We can expect yet another very cold night tonight “with widespread sharp to severe frost, icy stretches and patches of fog. Lowest temperatures of -6 to -2 degrees with light southwest or variable breezes.”
The good news is it’s looking considerably milder for the weekend, but it’s likely to be wet and windy.
