Don’t fancy a turkey this Christmas? A Cork chef is prepping meaty alternatives

By Maria Wilson November 30, 2023November 29, 2023

Not everyone is into the turkey thing.

And if you’re looking for an alternative Christmas meaty masterpiece prepared by a top chef and grill maestro, this might be the dish you’re dreaming of.

Victor Franca, a finalist for the prestigious Euro-Toques Young Chef of the Year 2022, is offering a turkey alternative for this year’s festive table — a slow-cooked pig, beef short ribs, or Beef Wellington.

The Brazilian chef and owner of the famed Nua Asador, the barbecue spot that brings all the flavours of South America to the Marina Market, is taking the stress out of cooking with these three amazing alternatives, which will be ready for collection on December 23rd and 24th.

The carnivorous offerings are a quarter of a slow-cooked pig, a beef Wellington with Tom Durcan’s famed fillet steak, mushrooms, and Parma ham filling on a puff pastry crust, and 4kg of full slow-cooked beef short ribs.

All these culinary creations come with foolproof directions for a stress-free finish in the comfort of your own kitchen.

There are very limited options available and you can secure yours by DMing Nua Asador on their Instagram page.
