With November well underway, the weather is set to turn cooler in Cork this week, especially by night, with temperatures likely to fall to -1 by the weekend.

In the meantime, we can expect a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers this morning.

The showers will become less frequent in the afternoon and cloud will build from the southwest before rain and drizzle develops during the evening with highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees.

It’s more of the same for Wednesday, but by Thursday, a day of sunshine, scattered blustery showers, and persistent rain in the evening will feel extra cool with highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees.

According to Met Éireann, Friday will be “cool and bright” with sunshine and scattered showers, mainly affecting the northern half of the country.

Nightfall will bring “a cold night with frost and ice possible in lowest temperatures of chilly -1 to +1 degrees. Showers will continue in parts of the north for a time before becoming mostly dry later in the night with just light winds.”

It will remain mostly dry on Saturday with clear sunny spells and the chance of an odd shower.
