Coburg Street is looking slick.

If you haven’t strolled across the bridge in a while, you can now check out some of the improvements that have been made during weeks of traffic chaos as the new pedestrian and cycle facilities were being constructed.

And even locals agree, it was all worth it.

A series of in-ground planters have been added to the new paving scheme to create a bee-friendly oasis in the middle of the city and give the pollinators a much-needed helping hand.

The planters have been freshly filled with montbretia, veronica, verbena, lavender, alliums, echinacea and grasses. These plants attract a variety of pollinators, helping to enhance biodiversity and promote a healthier ecosystem.

Plus, they add a pop of colour and a whaft of gorgeous summer scent to the concrete landscape.
