The Caha Pass is calling your name this weekend; West Cork Hikes is organising a challenging 12km hike along the Cork and Kerry border that will finish up with a stunning descent into Barley Lake.

Barley Lake is a glacial corrie lake that was formed in the Ice Age (around 10,000 years ago) when a melting glacier left a crater behind on the mountainside, creating one of the most picturesque destinations in West Cork.

And when you reach the isolated spot, you can tog out and head for a swim in the fresh water while soaking up the rays and enjoying breathtaking views of the Beara Peninsula if the day is clear.

The Caha Pass Hike is suitable for intermediate/advanced walkers and hikers and takes place on Saturday, May 20th (the full hike takes approximately six hours). You can book your place by messaging West Cork Hikes on Instagram or on 0832075905.
