There’s a major prize for Most Stylish guest at the Racing Home For Easter Festival

By Yay Cork April 7, 2023April 6, 2023

Brought to you by the Racing Home for Easter Festival.

Dig out your fanciest hat.

Cork fashion folk will be dressed to the nines for this year’s Racing Home For Easter Festival at Cork Racecourse Mallow, with a seriously enticing prize to be won by the day’s best-dressed punters.

Sharon Kennedy of Styled By Sharon will be scouring the grounds on Easter Sunday to judge the Most Stylish Lady competition.

The lucky winner will walk away with a €1,000 cash prize along with an overnight stay for two with rasul mud treatments and access to the thermal suite at the gorgeous Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Hotel in  Adare.

There is no pre-registration for the competition, simply choose your best look, have fun, and keep an eye out for the Best Dressed judge from 1pm on the day.

Tons of family fun

Preparations for the three-day Racing Home For Easter Festival, which takes place from Saturday, April 8th to Monday, April 10th are almost complete, with something for everyone over the three days, starting with a Flat card that kicks off at 1.15pm on Social Saturday, when live music by Bad Penny will keep the punters entertained after racing.

On Easter Sunday, horses go to post for the first of an eight-race jumps card at 1.10pm and DJ Aaron Stanton will entertain racegoers throughout the day in the marquee. Later J90 and The Buachaills will bring the day to a hopping conclusion.

The fun concludes on Easter Monday, with the first race commencing at 1.50pm and free entertainment for the younger racegoers including an Art Attack Zone, a magician, puppet show, face painter, and henna tattoo artist, as well as a petting zoo and racing simulator for children of all ages to enjoy.

General admission gate prices are €20 on Easter Saturday and Monday, and €25 on Easter Sunday (children under 14 race for free over all three days) with discounts for tickets bought online at corkracecourse.ie.

A free shuttle bus service is provided from Mallow Train Station and Mallow town.
