Cask’s 20th cocktail list stars drinks made with ice cream, seaweed and BLUE CHEESE

By Yay Cork December 22, 2022December 21, 2022

They’re the best in Ireland for a reason.

If you’re in the mood for a fabulous cocktail or six, you won’t find a more magical menu than that conjured up by the seasoned shakers at Cask on MacCurtain Street.

And now the award-winning bar is celebrating a remarkable 20 exciting seasons by unveiling a list of drinks that is guaranteed to secure their spot in local pub lore.

For the sweet-toothed there’s the Craic the Cans (a blend of Boatyard Old Tom Gin, barley wine, Banyuls, and clarified barley ice cream) and a Jammy Git (Glendalough Gin, Longueville House Apple Brandy, damson jam and cava rosé) both €13.

More adventurous drinkers (and cheese lovers) can try the Pure Mouwldy – Blackwater Vodka, Cashel Blue, honey and Mochie Ah lime or the Glass Curtain (rump steak Jameson Black Barrel, Shiso and blackberry.

“At Cask our cocktails have always featured Irish brands, producers, and native ingredients. They form the cornerstone of what we do,” says Cask’s Andy Ferreira.

“On this, our 20th menu, we’ve continued along this vein and the following drinks feature some wonderful Irish ingredients. From Cashel Blue cheese to an amazing Kerry couple who forage seaweed to our buddies and former employees Linda and Ivo who this year started Terra Ignis, a range of seasonal fermented products.

“We are working with Hivemind, a remarkable company based in Myrtleville whose passion for bees is second to none. There’s Mary O’Connell and her stunning jams and distilleries from all over the island.”

“We want to say a massive thank you to all our suppliers, big or small, we absolutely love working with you.”
