Once the ferris wheel starts turning on the Grand Parade, you know it’s officially Christmas in Cork and this year the fun begins on Friday.

GLOW, A Cork Christmas Celebration opens on the night in Bishop Lucey Park with the return of drummers drumming, dancers dancing, some confused French hens, splendid swans a-swimming, and at least one new bird, which definitely won’t fit in that pear tree.

A whopping 160,000 people enjoyed GLOW pre-pandemic, nabbing fantastic views of Cork City on the 30m ferris wheel before eating roasted chestnuts and festive treats at the Christmas Market – all to the sound of Cork choirs and bands.

It’s so Christmassy and this year, at last, it’s back in full effect.

GLOW will run every weekend in the build-up to Christmas. Entry is free but you can book a slot for your visit here.
