This secret staycation spot is a luxury hideaway on a Cork blueberry farm

We’re lucky ducks on Leeside.
If you’re craving a break from city life, a short (scenic) spin can thrust you into a picture-book landscape of glistening water and rolling green hills.
And if a romantic getaway in luxury lodgings is on the cards this winter, you could be among the first-ever guests at one of West Cork’s most idyllic new Airbnbs.
Perched on the family blueberry farm of Steve and Claire Collins (blueberries grow very well in boggy soil, love rain, and don’t mind the cold) The Hidden Haven is located in Derry Duff, Bantry.

Described as “a place to take your foot off the pedal, relax and unwind”, the stylish, luxury lodge, overlooks a small lake, making it a serene setting for a honeymoon or babymoon (or a magical backdrop for a proposal…).
Guests can settle in and enjoy stunning mountain views, the wild landscape, peace, calm, and plenty of local organic produce, thoughtfully provided in a delicious breakfast basket to fuel your hikes and adventures during your stay.
Inside the spacious bedroom boasts a super king-size bed with a deck overlooking a small lake. There is a large walk-in wardrobe with ample storage and the bathroom has a huge rain shower, as well as a bath with a view.

Irish-made, natural bath products are provided. An undercover porch leads into a boot room area, with a heated towel rail for drying wet gear. Beach towels, beach chairs, picnic kit, and wellies in various sizes are also provided.
Basically, they’ve thought of everything.
With the basics taken care of, you can savour a coffee on the deck with the water lapping beneath you, take a long soak in the large tub, read a book in the swivel chair surrounded by mountains or cosy up on the squishy sofa by the wood burning stove and play games.
It would also make a tranquil spot for a solo sojourn or an artist’s retreat, with a never-ending vista of inspiration stretching out before you in all directions.

Guests are invited to cook up some Derry Duff Dexter steaks on the barbecue and if you’d like to dine out during your stay, Steve and Claire can arrange taxis too.
