The Pav has been teasing pics of its quirky new interior

You’d miss the Pav.
Leesiders have long bemoaned the loss of the iconic venue after the final curtain fell on the old theatre in 2020.
Since Benny McCabe, owner of the Cork Heritage Pubs, purchased the Carey’s Lane complex in 2021, there has been much anticipation about what kind of transformation the legendary venue will undergo.
The building, which has changed hands a few times over the decades, has gone from an iconic cinema in the 1920s to a music venue, restaurant and techno nightclub.
Now Corkonians will be excited to hear that the newest iteration is set to return to its “architectural roots with a twist” with the ground floor restored to a mural-decorated cocktail and lounge bar.
Upstairs is set to have its gorgeous vaulted ceiling take centre stage once more, hosting a cinema and a multi-functional art space.
The venue owners have taken to Instagram to tease photos of some of the recent upgrades complete with “beautifully restored mouldings” and a “state-of-the-art sound system” that promises an “unparalleled” musical experience.

There is no official opening date yet, but with Jazz Weekend around the corner and the bar actively recruiting its new cocktail bartenders, we’re expecting its doors to swing open very soon.
