This Kinsale shop sells sustainable beach toys made of SEAWEED

Desperate to cut down on plastic kids’ toys?
It takes a great deal of will and determination to dodge the plastic avalanche that comes with parenthood these days, but one local shop is keeping parents and the environment in mind when it comes to beach toys this summer.
At Mylie Murphy’s Shop in Kinsale, you can pick up adorable buckets and spades made of seaweed.
The durable beach sets are made by the French company Coq en Pâte, which creates toys made from an innovative ecological material called Algoblend using brown seaweed harvested in Brittany.

Each kit comes with a bucket, shovel, sieve, and rake made from 100% Algoblend without bisphenol A, phthalate or any other nasties.
“How cool is this! We are now selling beach sets made from SEAWEED!” Mylie Murphy’s announced on Facebook.
“We’ve made a conscious decision to lower our plastic sales at Mylie Murphys Shop Kinsale. (PS we also have the adorable matching hats).”
Stop by Mylie Murphy’s on Pearse Street, Kinsale en route to the Dock Beach the next time you’re in town.
