This is how you can book free tickets to support the Mixed Ability Rugby World Cup

‘Come out and cheer on the players!’
With less than a week to go, the people behind the IMART Mixed Ability Rugby World Cup are looking for local supporters to attend the event at Irish Independent Park.
The tournament will host a whopping 25,000 players and spectators across the week at the grounds on Pearse Road in Ballyphehane and organisers are hoping sports fans will turn out in their droves to support the teams, who are traveling to Cork from all over the world.
The third edition of the worldwide Mixed Ability rugby showcase, which is promoted by International Mixed Ability Sports (IMAS), and supported by the IRFU, will see roughly 1100 players both with and without disabilities battle it out on the pitch.
Players from 14 countries including England, Scotland, Wales, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Canada, Argentina and Poland are already arriving on Leeside to play under World Rugby laws, with only minor adaptations such as uncontested scrums.
‘This is the final push for supporters’
“We are only one week out and the event is really taking shape,” said Liam Maher, co-founder, IMART 2022.
“There’s huge excitement within the IMART camp here in Cork, but also amongst the teams from around the world who are traveling here to take part in a tournament that celebrates diversity and inclusion in sport. We have live music, mixed ability sports, and matches on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday in Cork and the event is very much family-friendly.
“What we need now is the people of Cork to come out and cheer on the players, in what promises to be one of the most inspirational sports events ever to come to this country. We have already received huge support from people throughout the country, and this is the final push for supporters.
“Responsibilities will range from general volunteers to translators, who will support the 14 teams competing across the week.”
