Young people can apply for a grant of up to €5k to stage a mini festival or gig

Fancy a career as a promoter?
If you have an idea for an event you’d like to plan as your first foray into staging performances, a new micro-grant scheme could help you get things in motion.
Grants of between €500 and €5,000 are now available to support events and activities for young people in Cork as part of a €60,000 funding project launched by Léargas.
The Micro Grant Scheme, one of a number of initiatives to celebrate the European Year of Youth, will support opportunities for young people at a local, national and European level.
Youth organisations, schools, clubs, and community groups, as well as informal groups of young folk are invited to apply and the money will help support events and activities for young people, such as conferences, workshops, information sessions or consultations, art exhibitions or photography competitions, mini-festivals or musical events.
“After two years of lockdowns, we’re delighted to welcome the European Year of Youth – to celebrate young people, create new opportunities for them, and to shine a light on the brilliant work happening right across the country,” said Executive Director of Léargas, Lorraine Gilligan.
There will be six application deadlines over the course of the year with the first on Friday, April 15th.
