The Dragon of Shandon crew are planning a St Patrick’s Day surprise

They know how to put on a show.
And with St Patrick’s Day just around the corner, we are buzzing that the crew behind the Dragon of Shandon, aka Cork Art Link, are participating in this year’s festival.
The Community Arts organisation took to Instagram to share that they are looking for volunteers to help them prepare for the big event.
“Well folks, we can’t hide it any longer – Cork Community Art Link is participating in the ☘️ St Patrick’s Day Parade ☘️ that is going ahead – in full – in Cork city on the 17th March! The building, brainstorming, welding, typing, painting, gluing, claying, and spreadsheeting is in full swing, and we want you to be a part of it!
“We have volunteer opportunities for those who want to get involved at the Lido, Blackpool, in prop-making, float construction, costume-making, performance or photography. Previous experience is not necessary, only enthusiasm and a good attitude!”

Last year, the group put together some seriously impressive art installations in Peace Park, including 3-D sculptures of Cliodhna’s Magical Birds and a stained glass window of the Goddess of Love and Beauty (and Patron of County Cork) Clíodhna herself – all made from recycled materials.
