Other parts of the south coast will be even worse affected, with a status orange warning in place for Wexford and Waterford.
Friday morning will see the rain ease off, though it’s expected to rear its ugly, wet head once again by tomorrow evening: “On Friday morning there will be a good deal of dry weather, with sunny spells and just isolated showers. However, frequent heavy showers will develop in the afternoon, merging into longer spells of rain as they track eastwards.”
Flooding has already forced certain roads to close.
