Met Éireann: ‘Relatively hot’ in Cork today, but thunderstorms could develop later

You might need your beach umbrella for shelter later on.
Met Éireann is forecasting another glorious day of sunshine across Cork, but there is a chance that scattered thunderstorms may develop through the afternoon and into the evening.
Despite the odd rumble, forecasters assure us there’s a “relatively hot day with good spells of sunshine” ahead, with highest temperatures of 24 to 27, possibly higher locally.
“Any lingering showers will clear to leave a dry night with a mix of cloud and clear spells. Another warm and humid night with temperatures not falling below 15 to 17 degrees, in light northeasterly breezes.”
