5 delicious NEW ice-cold Cork cocktails to cool you down in a heatwave

By Katie Mythen-Lynch July 17, 2021July 16, 2021

Summer 2021 has finally arrived.

We’ve waited long enough for it, so now is the time to slather on the sunscreen (and hand sanitiser) and grab a table in the sunshine for some low-key drinks with a date or a mate.

Some of our favourite Cork pubs have been cranking up the creativity on the cocktail menu lately, meaning there’s a whole host of delectable new drinks to sample since the last time you were in town.

From cold brew coffee to a bonkers blend of whiskey, Captain Morgan’s and Red Bull, the list of ingredients will blow your mind so make sure you hydrate between booze stops.

Here are five to try this week:

1. THE ‘MOCKY SHAM’ AT ELECTRIC

Where: South Mall

A blend of Roe and Co. Whiskey, SOMA coffee coldbrew, tonka liqueur and soda, Electric’s ‘Mocky Sham’ will perk you right up for an evening out on the boardwalk.

2. THE TIRAMISU MARTINI AT ATLAS

Where: Oliver Plunkett Street

If you’re a fan of their Cafe Mocha Martini, you’re going to be weak for the Tiramisu cocktail at Atlas. Worth skipping dessert for in our book.

3. THE ELDERFLOWER/VERBENA AT CASK

Where: Mac Curtain Street

The Cask crew have foraged the last of the elderflower leaves to infuse with Bacardi rum and verbena honey; the mix is topped up with Prosecco and finished with a concentrated elderflower/verbena mist. Ridiculously tasty.

4. THE COCONUT LIME MOJITO AT MARKET LANE

Where: 5/6 Oliver Plunkett Street

Heading pout for dinner and drinks? Nab a table at Market Lane so you can sample their holiday-inspired take on the classic mojito. This coconut/lime blend will transport you to a tropical island.

5. THE CHUBBALICIOUS AT CONWAY’S YARD

Where: 64 Oliver Plunkett Street

It’s not for the faint of heart, but if you’re ‘out out’ for the night, The Chubbalicious at new spot Conway’s Yard will get the party started fast. It’s a blend of Roe & Co Whiskey, Smirnoff Vodka, Gordon’s Gin, Captain Morgan’s Spiced Rum and Bols Triple Sec… all topped up with flavoured Redbull.
