Summer is a good time to switch up your scent.

And if you’re on the lookout for a new everyday fragrance to invigorate your senses as the weather grows warmer, a local perfumer has created three joyous blends designed to lift the mood.

Youghal-based scent composer Nora Irwin is behind the ethically sourced, nature-inspired brand Arona Fragrance. Her 100% natural solid perfume is made in Ireland using organic beeswax and pure natural essential oils.

Both alcohol and synthetic-free, each solid perfume comes in an eco-friendly capsule, making it handbag-friendly and free from spills and leaks.

“I grew up surrounded by perfume as a close family member worked in one of the biggest perfume houses in the world, and I was lucky enough to be gifted lots of wonderful scents,” Nora told Yay Cork.

Eventually, Nora followed her dream and went to London to study the art of fragrances: “My interest in nature and commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly products planted a seed of a business idea, and then ARONA Natural Solid Perfume was born and has been growing ever since.”

The first two scents are Delicate Rose, a nostalgic fragrance that captures the warmth of a dewy late summer’s evening, and Fresh Citrus, a balancing blast of orange with zesty top notes of grapefruit, lemon, and lime and a woody base note of patchouli.

Calming Lavender is a fresh, light, calming fragrance with top notes of eucalyptus and lemon, a heart of soothing lavender, bergamot, and vetiver, and warm base notes of ginger and cedarwood – ideal for dabbing on pulse points to alleviate anxiety throughout the day.
