Finally; Met Éireann says there’s some dry weather ahead (with a touch of frost)

By Yay Cork November 3, 2020November 3, 2020

We’ll take it.

The torrential rain has had most of us cooped up indoors for days now, but Met Éireann is finally forecasting some dry weather for Cork in the later part of the week.

After this morning’s dawn deluge, today’s sunny spells will be interrupted by scattered showers of rain or hail, some heavy and a few possibly thundery, with highest temperatures of 8 to 10 degrees.

“Early tonight, any remaining showers will die out and it will become dry with clear spells. Winds will fall off light and some patches of mist or fog will form overnight. It will be cold with lowest temperatures of -1 to +3 degrees with frost developing.” says the national forecaster.

Things are set to improve on Wednesday, which will be dry and bright in most areas with sunny spells developing after any mist or fog clear. Temperatures are set to reach up to 11 degrees.

Wednesday night will be dry but chilly, with lowest temperatures of -1 to +4 degrees, “coldest in Leinster and Munster with frost developing”.

What about the weekend?

Thursday and Friday will continue dry with bright or sunny spells and highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees, once again dropping to -1 to +4 degrees at night.

For now, the weekend is looking good too: “Saturday will be largely dry. There’ll be some sunny spells over the northern half of the country. However, it will be cloudier further south.” according to Met Éireann.
