The first trad session returns to Sin É this weekend (but singing is banned)

It’s been a long time coming.
But after almost six months of silence in the corner of Sin É on Coburg Street, trad musicians will be tuning up once again this Sunday.
The bar, which has been synonymous with trad music in Cork since 1977, has announced that two trad sessions will take place on Sunday, September 6th (one from 6.30pm until 8pm, another from 8.30pm until 10pm). All going well, sessions will resume the following weekend, running on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
“It’s really important that we keep this extremely safe for ourselves and yourselves, dear customers and musicians,” the management said in a Facebook post announcing the plans.
“The Housekeeping will be, A) yes everyone must buy the €9 tax meal but we have tasty meat and cheese as well as vegan boxes, B) we need to remain seated except for going to the loo, we’d appreciate wearing a mask whilst doing so, C) not everyone obviously will have a line of sight to the musicians but this has always been the case so Karen Complaints will result in immediate barring.”
Sin É is running the first night as a walk-in event but staff are required to ask all customers to provide their contact details for contact tracing in the event of a Covid-19 outbreak.
Everyone is asked to take their seats five minutes before the music starts
“We would also kindly ask that you help us by finishing up at the end of the gig to help us make ready for customers coming for the second gig,” they added.
